Ripley County Sheriff’s Report

On Jan. 20 Jaiden McCullough, 23, of Doniphan was arrested at his residence on Ripley U-1. McCullough was booked in on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, harassment in the second degree, and assault in the fourth degree. McCullough was lodged in the Ripley County Jail.

On Jan. 20 at 4:30 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a complaint that a vehicle was vandalized while it was parked at a residence on Front Street in Naylor.

On Jan. 21 at 2:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report that a truck was stolen from a residence on Ripley 142E-12. The owner suspected it was taken by an acquaintance.

On Jan. 21 at 5 a.m., Steven Swiney, 43, of Doniphan was arrested on Hwy. 21 in Doniphan.  Swiney was booked in on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and he was lodged in the Ripley County Jail.

On Jan. 22 at 9 p.m., Rosenda Torres, 22, of Poplar Bluff was arrested on Hwy. 160 in Fairdealing. Torres was booked in on charges of peace disturbance and escape from confinement. She was lodged in the Ripley County Jail.

On Jan. 24 at 8 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report that the US and Missouri flags were stolen from the front entrance to the Amity Cemetery.

On Jan. 24 at 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a complaint that a couple stole tools and glassware from a Ripley 160W-3 residence. The victim was familiar with the suspects and was able to provide their names and contact information.

On Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to a custody dispute at a residence on U Hwy. in Doniphan. During the investigation it was discovered the residence was unsanitary. Missouri Children’s Division was notified so that services could be offered to the family.

On Jan. 25 at 8:30 p.m., the RCSO and MSHP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Hwy. 142E in Oxly.

On Jan. 25 at 11:45 p.m., a vehicle was impounded and towed from a traffic stop on Locust Street in Doniphan after it was determined the driver was not licensed and she was unable to provide proof of insurance. The driver was released at the scene with traffic citations.

On Jan. 26 at 2 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report that a chainsaw was stolen from a truck parked at a residence on Hwy. 160W in Doniphan.
