The Naylor-Ripley County Library's Coffee & Books event offers a cozy gathering for book lovers to discuss literature over coffee every third Wednesday. Despite winter weather, the January meeting celebrated a local correspondent.

The Naylor-Ripley County Library hosted its monthly Coffee & Books event on Jan. 15, despite the wintery weather that may have kept some regular attendees away.

Held at 105 Kelsey Street, the event takes place every third Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m., and offers library patrons a chance to share and discuss books over steaming coffee.

Coffee & Books has become a cherished tradition at the Naylor branch, drawing around 20 residents each month, according to Director Linda Lunsford.

The event provides a welcoming space for community members to connect and engage in literary discussions in a private room sure not to disturb others.

This month, attendees braved the cold to congratulate Ollie Kirby on becoming the Prospect-News correspondent for Naylor.

The next Coffee & Books meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19. Those interested in attending can simply show up at the library; no RSVP is necessary.
