Can I officially say I am over snow and ready for warmer weather?

I am not fond of winter lows or summer when it’s way too hot. I would be happy for temperatures between 70-85 year-round.

Regardless it is what it is.

I am sure the children have had a ball building snowmen and playing in the snow. My fear if I was out there, I would fall and no one would even know I had, so I am staying inside and soon spring will spring again.

What is the old saying, “If you stay in Missouri long enough, you will go through all four seasons in one day.”

Saturday I got to spend a couple hours with my son, Matthew Hudson. He took me to Menard’s, Hobby Lobby, and lunch at Taco Bell.

I had several crochet projects I had been working on, but ran out of crochet thread to finish them. So, this week I finished about five large doily projects.

I learned how to do many things with my grandma Virgie Nickell such as crocheting basic stitches, quilting, sewing, canning, and anything else she might have worked on.

I was blessed for all my time I had with my grandparents, Virgie and Harold Nickell.

I was blessed for my time with my son Matthew, also, enjoyed a phone visit with my sons Doug Mandry in Mayfield, Ky., and Mark Hudson in Advance. I have been very blessed by the Lord for my sons and their families, and I love them very much.

I have been going through a lot of stuff at my house. One thing I have is cookbooks. Some were my grandma’s, some were my moms and some were mine. I don’t really use them much. I don’t do a lot of cooking just for one.

My mom also collected cookie jars, so I have several of them. I gave all of my children and grandchildren cookie jars already, plus have given several to special friends.

Bunco will be on Feb. 27, at 6 p.m., providing the snow is over for our area. Come on out to the Ponder Community Center on Highway 142 West going towards Gatewood. Bring a snack, finger food or a covered dish and come out and enjoy the fun and fellowship of Bunco.

Lord, we pray that all will stay safe during the cold temperatures. Heal those who are fighting the flu right now, especially all children who are having a hard time with the flu. Give strength to those who are struggling and need you to hold them up in your name. Remember God loves and so do I.

Also, if you are looking for a church to visit I would like to invite you to Faith Life Christian Church on Highway 160E. Stay safe and my the Lord bless you all.
