The community is invited to join Oak Grove Church in its efforts to promote wellness.

Anyone can become “Fit For The King.”

Do you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?

“You are not your own. You were bought at a price; therefore, honor God with your body.” (I Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV).

Through the Fit For The King program, onecan earn points from any activity and track it using distance completed or time spent in the activity.

The goal is to get 200 aerobic miles (logged as aerobic points) in four months, starting in January. This averages to about 10-15 points a week or about 50 aerobic points each month.

Some ideas to do to pass the time while being active include WWE (Worship while Exercising: you can pray, sing, listen to Christian music, podcast etc.)

It is suggested that participants keep a monthly chart/calendar and report points earned at the end of the month. (Be sure to encourage others at church meetings, through group messages, calls, and while at church, etc.)

Consider sending out messages to others about scripture or thoughts on health. Offer suggestions such as cranking up the music when you do housework, which will cause you to be more active, and count it as points.

Scale for one month:

50 points: Awesome.

30 points: Great Job.

29 and below: Keep at it/Good.

The program is a kick-start for a more permanent lifestyle.

Those who take part are encouraged to continue the program after the initial four-month period.

Congregations can use it as an outreach or keep it within their own church families.

It can be used by all ages, in conjunction with other activities, and is great for males, females and Run for Jesus People, etc.
