The Donettes basketball team is set to host the annual Net’s Night game against Neelyville on Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Doniphan High School gym.

The event, which promises an exciting evening of basketball, offers free admission to Doniphan Nets players who wear their jerseys.

These players will also enjoy special seating behind the bench, providing them with a unique vantage point to support their fellow athletes.

The junior varsity game will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.

The Donettes have demonstrated exceptional performance this season, with victories in all games except for a narrow loss to California (52-56) at the Sophie Cunningham Classic on Jan. 10.

Their season began with a strong showing at the River City Classic in December, where they secured wins against Kelly (64-23), Portageville (66-38), and Neelyville (64-36).

The team continued their winning streak with triumphs over Fredericktown (63-48), Liberty (Mountain View) (57-39), and Greenville (54-14) in December.

The Lady Royal Christmas Classic also saw the Donettes victorious against Kennett (72-35), Poplar Bluff (57-26), and Portageville (60-33). January kicked off with an impressive win against Puxico (84-22).

Net’s Night is not only a celebration of basketball but also a testament to the strong community support for local sports.

The Doniphan Nets Basketball organization, which sponsors the event, plays a crucial role in fostering young talent and encouraging community involvement in athletics.

This event provides an opportunity for the community to come together and cheer on the Donettes as they continue their successful season.
