“It is with a heavy heart that I extend condolences to the Bristol/Norris and extended families in the sad passing of their matriarch, Mary Bristol Norris. Mary and Eula Jane were close buddies to my sister Peggy and me and a bright spot in our childhood years. The Bristol family was a cherished neighbor, never mind the three-mile distance. They were generous supporters of Handy community and church activities. Mary’s was a life well lived and she leaves a lasting legacy in her many relatives and friends. My sincere sympathy in your loss.
Doug Adair enjoyed the cattle drive activities during his brief visit last week but more so, the opportunity to touch base with some cousins.
Although I don’t have a list, best wishes to December birthdays. We will celebrate the Christmas Eve birthday of Angie Adair Jones in Kansas City but her family may swing through Handy en route from Virginia with hopes of greeting as many cousins and others as possible.
Given reports of mountain lions/panthers being seen in our region, it raises the question whether this is related to the reduction in deer population. Certainly there have been very few deer visiting my watering hole and according to Sandi Masching’s facebook post it’s the same at their place and that deer hunters camped near us on 3142 reported a mountain lion sighting. I’m not sure how comfortable that makes me feel….
It’s great news from Shookie Hilton that she is feeling good and appears she is deep into Christmas preparations.
I’m looking forward to seeing her and all the rest at the Hoskins Handy Church Christmas party, the Big Barren Christmas Caroling as well as the Tuesday singalongs at Riverways Manor. The Christmas Spirit is in the air!
