The Doniphan Donettes showcased their basketball prowess Monday evening, securing a victory against the Kennett Indians on their home court.
The game, held at the Doniphan High School Bill L. Wright gymnasium, saw the Donettes dominate with a final score of 56-42.
The team, known for their strategic plays and strong defense, was led by standout performances from Carsyn Hagood and Kensey Killian.
Carsyn Hagood emerged as the top scorer with an impressive 20 points, evenly split between the halves.
Kensey Killian also made significant contributions, starting strong with four free throws in the first quarter and adding eight points in the fourth quarter.
Ellie White and Madilyn Redus each added seven points to the scoreboard, while Sarah Owen and Tara Davis contributed six and two points, respectively.
The Donettes are set to face the Poplar Bluff Lady Mules at home on Friday, Feb. 28.
This game holds special significance as it will be Senior Night, celebrating the contributions of the team’s senior players.
The event promises to be an exciting evening, with the junior varsity game starting at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity matchup.
Doniphan R-I sports fans are encouraged to come out eariler for the DHS Sports Hall of Fame induction at 5:45 p.m., and support the Donettes as they continue their impressive season.
