Gatewood R-III students showcased their skills at the local Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot contest. Avery Young clinched first in the 8-9 girls' division, later securing third at the district level in Ozark.

The winners from the hoop shoot school contest at Gatewood R-III traveled to Thayer Elementary school on Dec. 8 to compete in the local Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot contest.

They all were great competitors and Avery Young won first place in the 8-9 year old girl’s division.

The six lodge winners advanced to compete with other participants from nearby communities.

Avery traveled to Ozark on Jan. 18 to compete at the district level and placed third. The school is very proud of Avery and all of the Hoop Shoot participants.
