Two organizations in the small community of Naylor intend to show that although the town is small in size and number the people have big hearts.
Both the Reese Ainley Foundation and the Naylor American Legion will show community love and support by serving a free Thanksgiving meal.
The Reese Ainley Foundation hosts several events each year in Naylor. Those include (but are not limited to) the annual ReeseFest, and various other community outreach projects, such as providing scholarships, school supplies, and tangible assistance to families in need.
The non-profit organization will again host a community Thanksgiving dinner in Naylor to anyone who would benefit or enjoy dining and/or fellowship in a family setting this Thanksgiving.
The dinner will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 5 -7 p.m. at The Depot, located at 116 SW Front Street in Naylor.
There is no charge for the meal; however, donations will be accepted payable to The Reese Ainley Foundation.
The Productive Living Center (PLC) consumers and staff will be volunteering by setting up and serving that day.
Kristie Ainley, owner of The Depot said, “We have wonderful volunteers eager to offer their help serving dinner, and it is so great to have these volunteers from the Productive Living Center also available to set up prior to the dinner.”
Manager, Jessica Wilkerson of PLC shared the reasons behind the consumers’ desire to give back to the community by volunteerism.
She said, “Their appreciation stems from support and contributions that Ripley County individuals and businesses have provided for PLC consumers, in that they have been able to experience so many different activities and special outings, (for the first time, for many of them).”
The Naylor American Legion will open its doors and serve a meal from 1 to 3 p.m., Thanksgiving Day.
The public is cordially invited to take part in either event.
