In a delightful fusion of prehistoric adventure and sweet treats, the Doniphan-Ripley County Library recently hosted the much-anticipated “Dinos and Donuts” storytime event.

This gathering, which took place at the Doniphan-Ripley County Library, saw an impressive turnout of 52 children, all eager to embark on a literary journey through the world of dinosaurs and donuts.

The event featured Sarah Ladyman, Childrens’ Librarin who captivated the young audience with her animated readings of Dinos Love Donuts by Ben Okon and Adopting a Dinosaur by Jose Carlos Andres.

These stories, filled with whimsy and wonder, transported the children to a world where dinosaurs not only roamed the earth (but also developed a fondness for donuts).

The engaging narratives and vibrant illustrations were intended to keep the children enthralled, hopefully fostering their imaginations and a love for reading.

The Lemonade House Grille donated an array of delicious donuts for the event. This gesture not only provided a delightful snack for the youngsters but also highlighted the community spirit that is integral to the library’s events.

The Doniphan-Ripley County Library has long been a cornerstone of the community, fostering a love for literature and learning among residents of all ages.

This event is a testament to the library’s ongoing commitment to providing enriching experiences for children.

The next special event is Christmas Storytime on Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. Children are invited to enjoy cookies and milk while being read the classic Christmas tale, Rudolph the red-Nosed Reindeer by Robert L. May. After storytime children will have an opportunity to decorate their own Christmas tree ornament.
