In anticipation of the United States’ 250th birthday, the Poplar Bluff Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has embarked on a meaningful project to enrich local education.
Led by chapter president Julie Braschler, the initiative involves distributing patriotic art prints to schools in Ripley, Butler, and Carter Counties.
These prints, which depict significant events from the American Revolutionary War, are intended to serve as educational tools and sources of inspiration for students and teachers alike.
The schools receiving these prints include Ripley RIV (Lone Star), and Naylor and Doniphan High Schools in Ripley County.
In Butler County, Neelyville, Twin Rivers, and Three Rivers College have been selected.
The initiative is part of the DAR’s broader mission to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Founded in 1890, the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution is a lineage-based organization dedicated to honoring the legacy of those who fought in the American Revolutionary War.
With more than one million members since its inception, the DAR has been a steadfast advocate for education and patriotism across the United States.
The Poplar Bluff chapter, in particular, has been active in various community projects, including genealogy workshops and historical preservation efforts, as highlighted in previous articles.
