Mendy Reece, broker/owner of United Country | American Realty, and hundreds of others attended the lifestyle, country and rural property company’s annual convention in February.
Reece, a 27-year real estate industry veteran based in Doniphan, recently joined her fellow network affiliates in Kansas City for United Country Real Estate’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.
A longtime United Country affiliate and owner of the Doniphan office for the past 12 years, Reece helps clients buy and sell real estate in southeast Missouri across Ripley, Oregon, Carter and Butler counties.
“The Doniphan office was established in the 1930s (Feb. 1, 1937) known as United Farm Agency,” Reece said. “I love the thought of that longevity and all the history being there, and I love my hometown.”
Founded in 1925 by Roscoe L. Chamberlain, Kansas City, Mo.-based United Country Real Estate today touts more than 400 offices nationwide. Reaching the 100-year mark is an achievement earned by less than half of one percent of all businesses, regardless of industry.
Each year, the convention welcomes affiliates for recognition, training and networking in a different area, and the vibe is very celebratory.
“Our convention always gives me new insight on how the market is changing and United Country has always had great marketing techniques. There’s also a very family-oriented feeling,” Reece said.
Her brokerage focuses on country homes, farms, horse properties, buildable lots and plenty of land for hunting, fishing and recreation. And after nearly three decades in real estate, Reece said she’s never lost her passion.
“I’m always showing people what’s great about the area, whether they’re visiting or moving here,” she said.
“The outdoor recreation is a huge part of it, with canoeing, camping, state parks, a national forest and more.
“The Ozark foothills along the Current River are where the horizon is your backyard and the rivers and creeks are your swimming pools.”
