Soon visitors to the community will find signage directing them to Handy Lane, Haney Lane, Lover’s Lane and the Fire House.

The signs are being made and donated by a recent visitor to the community, Miss Tess Adair. She is a partner with her cousin, Miss Claire Jones in their newly formed venture, DoMa, designers of custom labels and signs.

Tess has been a Handy visitor the past week along with her Havanese Poodle puppy “Elwood.” She provided essential clerical support in preparing for the fire department meeting.

She and Elwood also helped entertain the residents at Riverways Manor in Van Buren on music Tuesday. The residents were delighted with the affections of Elwood.

We are sorry that several of our community members are under the Covid spell again. Hopefully everyone will soon recover and the spell will be broken.

Although the Covid mutation seems not to be so lethal, it is certainly no less contagious and no one wants to suffer or spread the virus.

This column will necessarily be reported from my “second home” with daughter, Beth, in Kansas City while I recuperate from shoulder replacement. Hopefully mine will be as successful as that of others who have given me encouragement. Your prayers and healing thoughts will be much appreciated.
