Circuit Thoughts

He Is RISEN. Not has risen or was risen. Christ is RISEN indeed. This is present tense, which means He is still RISEN. He hasn’t gone back to the tomb; He didn’t jump up alive and then die again. NO, He continues to be RISEN.

I mean, have you ever thought about that? The implications are enormous. If Christ is still up and going, even after 2,000 +/- years, what does that mean for us? Is it possible that we too will be raised? Well, the answer to that is a big and profound “YES.” Christ died and was raised from the dead by His Father, and we too can look forward to being raised from the dead to spend eternity with Christ. That seems too good to be true, but it is.

1 Corinthians 15:52: “… for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” Yes, we too will be raised, and that resurrection was proven on that Easter Day so long ago. Christ is raised from the dead and is not going back. Death has lost all its power over those who follow Christ.

What happened that Easter morning so long ago was more than just a loved one coming back. The event was not limited to just a single action of Christ’s coming back to life. No, that event changed everything in the entire Universe. We will not belong to death. We are children of light and life. Darkness has nothing on us. Death cannot hold us. Christ made a way and is still making a way for all of us.

This is the Good News that needs to be shared. The one whom we thought had died is still alive, even after almost 2,000 years. The promise that God made so long ago has come to fruition and is still being acted upon even today.

I pray that you realized Easter is more than bunnies and bonnets. That Easter had more going on than hiding Easter eggs and stealing your childrens’ chocolate. Easter is more, so much more than that. Easter fulfilled the promise of Christ. We live because He lives. He lives and is bringing us home to Himself.

I pray everyone has a wonderful Easter season, and that during this season, you will remember what happened. The laws of the universe have been upset. Death has been swallowed up in victory. We have nothing to fear when we close our eyes to this world, for when we open them again, it will be to see the beautiful face of Christ.

My prayer for you is that you become an Easter child. The Easter child knows that Christ is RISEN, and lives accordingly. An Easter child proclaims the Good News, just as Mary did, and rejoices in knowing that we will be changed.

Because, my friends, EASTER CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Just a thought.

Shalom my friends. See you in church.
