Circuit Thoughts
When was the last time you considered the awesomeness of God? Psalm 90:2 says, “Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, you are God.” The Psalmist in this passage is proclaiming the greatness of God our refuge and creator. But the truly awesome thing about God is that even though He is creator and caretaker of the universe, He is also our friend and protector.
Isaiah 49:16, “Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands…” The maker of the universe has your name and my name on the palms of His hands. He knows us, and He is taking the trouble to watch over us. You know not many religions have gods that will bother to get to know people. But God takes time to know us because we are His image on earth. We are never beyond His reach.
To think that He even made a way for us to not die in our sins, just overwhelms me. We humans can do such awful things to each other. Turn on the news and you see hatred, violence, bigotry, war. We are not kind to each other. I often wonder how we can treat each other so shabbily. Yet God still shows us love, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8).
I know, I am throwing quite a few Bible verses at you. But think about it, the Bible itself is a testimony for what God is doing for us. In essence it is a love letter to all His children. The Bible is there to remind us of the love that God still has for us. It isn’t some archaic, out-of-date tome. It is the word of God, assuring us of His love and devotion.
Look, all I can say is that we serve an awesome God. God created us in His image, and then made a way for His image to not be destroyed. God forgives sins and leads us to a better way of living. God never fails and never let’s go. No other religion can confess that truth.
Through His son Jesus Christ, we are saved by His blood, and we are in the season to remember that. There is no other way to be saved. We serve an awesome God, (Oh, I said that already.)
I don’t know where you are in your life. I don’t know what trials you have been through, but I do know that God loves you, God knows you and God is with you. That is the promise from His Holy Book and backed up by the blood of His Son.
If you don’t believe me, then talk with your pastor. If you don’t have one, there is one close by. The goodness of God is more than you or I can comprehend, and don’t forget…
Your name is written on His Hand.
Just a thought.
Shalom my friends. See you in church.
