The Doniphan-Ripley County Library Board convened on Jan. 21 at the Doniphan Ripley County Library’s Genealogy Room.
The meeting, led by President John Grim, commenced at 3:55 p.m. and included key discussions on library updates, financial approvals, and new services for the community.
During the meeting, the board approved the minutes from the December session, following a motion by Allison Ficke and a second by Keshia Russell.
The Library Director, Samantha Rodgers, presented the library updates, while Beth McComb shared the monthly financial report from the Treasurer.
The board also unanimously approved the warrant list from December, with motions from Cindy and seconds from Susan Wilfong and Carmen Jackson.
A significant decision made during the meeting was the approval of a new public shredder service.
Allison Ficke proposed the purchase of a shredder for public use, suggesting that the pricing should align with existing printing services. Cindy seconded the motion, and the board agreed to move forward with this initiative, aiming to enhance the library’s offerings to the community.
The board also discussed the potential hiring of a new employee, but this topic was tabled for a future meeting pending further information. The next board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18 at the Doniphan branch.
