Bonny Davis was only the second oldest person in attendance at a birthday celebration given in her honor, held last Saturday, Sept. 25, at Rocky River Pavilion in Doniphan. The event, hosted by Karen Gant and June Watson was in recognition of Bonny’s 90th birthday, which will occur Sept. 30, but scheduled for the proceeding weekend for the sake of convenience and for all participants. A crowd of at least 80 persons (and possibly more), including all of the honoree’s siblings, all of her living children, and most of her grandchildren, five great~grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Her older sister Pollyanna, reached the age of 90 two and half years ago at which time was also honored by her daughter Cathy with a huge gathering in attendance.

Bonny’s two sons, Jimmy and Johnny assisted with the celebration in providing a short summary of her life and music accompaniment and group singing. Also playing some instrumentals was her grandson Mickey Watson. Since a complete list is not available at this time we want it to be known that each person in attendance was immensely appreciated by Bonny and her entire family. Many who could not attend sent their congratulations and love. (Some came from distant towns and states; and others came in spite of disabilities.) We hope to acknowledge every one personally.

Weekend church services were held at Handy as always with average attendance, with Robert Brown bringing an excellent message

We send our love and condolences to the families of Abby Walk, Glenn Mobley, Cindy DeVore, Pat Mangold and Purita Creutz all of whom recently passed away. All were local residents and well-known throughout the area. May God Bless and comfort each one as only He can.
