I wanted to thank everyone who made the Haunted Downtown Halloween Spooktacular a huge success!

So many people came together once again to keep our kids safe and help to give them a memorable Halloween. There are too many to name and I am sure I would forget someone, just know if you donated candy to the candy drop, handed out candy at the trunk or treat or had a business that gave out candy you are so appreciated! I want to thank the City of Doniphan and Doniphan Police Department for their unwavering support

This was the Spooktacular’s 12th year. When it started, I had no idea what would happen, I was told it would never work. But I knew Doniphan did not really celebrate Halloween, many people took their kids to other areas to go trick or treating. My goal was to provide a safe, fun place for the kids to celebrate Halloween right here in town. Since that time, many churches, organizations and individuals began to show support and follow suit. More homes are giving out candy, there are hayrides, and parties all over town. I feel my mission was accomplished.

As with anything there is a season. The Spooktacular of 2024 will be my last time being the organizer of the event. The girls and I have had a great time and we want to thank everyone that has helped us along the way. I hope someone else will pick up the event and keep it going.

Again, to everyone who has helped in any way over the last 12 years, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
