Ervon Tillman

Ervon Lee Tillman, 94, of Doniphan, passed peacefully to his eternal home on Saturday Oct. 5, 2024 at his residence in Ripley County. He was born March 17, 1930 in Success, Ark. and was the son of Charlie and Mary Belle (Warren) Tillman.

On Feb. 21, 1953 Ervon married Annabel Payne in Piggott, Ark. and was married for 71 years. She survives. He is survived by his son Wayne (Mary)Tillman of Jonesboro, Ark. and his daughters, Marilyn (Rusty) Rawlings of Eminence, Mo., Nancy (Jeff) Slayton of Roswell, N.M. and Jane (Skip) Saucier of Springfield, Mo.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Nathan Tillman, Lacey Avery-Tillman, Casey Rawlings, Lafe Rawlings, Matthew Rawlings, Madelyn Brown, Roxanne Slayton, Veronica Epler, Jonathan Slayton, Jillian Slayton, and Caroline Slayton. Surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Audrey, Logan, Anya, Josiah, Vivian and Luna. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ervon was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, five sisters, and great-grandson Ezekiel Epler.

Ervon was the last surviving sibling of his family.

Ervon served in the US Army combat of the Korean War. He was owner and operator of Tillman Sawmill. He raised cattle, pigs, sheep and Angora goats. Ervon enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with Annabel.

In 1960 he answered the call from God and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ impacting many lives during his ministry. He leaves a legacy to family and friends of dedication, compassion and a desire to serve God.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 11 with visitation from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Fowler & Sons Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at New Hope Cemetery
