John Reynolds

John David Reynolds, of Fairdealing, was born on Feb. 7, 1962, in Key West, Fla., to William and Lottie E. (Payne) Reynolds. He passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 62, in St. Louis after a short illness. John was a cherished husband, uncle, brother, and son who was known for his big personality and even bigger heart. He never failed to maintain a positive outlook on life.

John moved to Fairdealing in 1976 and graduated from Doniphan High School in 1980. John was known as a hard worker who excelled at all jobs he undertook, including the work he did in the oil fields of Oklahoma and on roadway and bridge construction.

Outside of work, John was passionate about his hobbies. He loved auto restoration and was a member of the Riverside Hot Rods Club, enjoyed boating on Current River with his beloved wife, Divina, and cherished his pets, Bella and Jim. John dedicated much of his free time to going above and beyond for his community by helping his friends with various home repair projects. He was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Church and the Southeast Filipino/American Fellowship.

John’s wonderful and fun-loving spirit will forever be cherished by his wife, Divina; his brother, Warren (Jody) Reynolds; nieces, Sigrid (Michael Threet) Reynolds and Claire Reynolds; nephew, Doug Reynolds; great-niece, Zoe Hembree; as well as five brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and 23 nieces and nephews of Bayugan City, Philippines. John was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie, and great-nephew, Riley Hembree.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor John’s memory and legacy at Pilgrim’s Rest Church located at 25 Joy Lane in Fairdealing, on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 2 - 4 p.m.

John was a special presence in the lives of many and will be truly missed by those who knew him.
