Goodbye May and hello June. There are a lot of people getting married this month. Plus several are taking vacations this month. I wonder if I could start a go-fund so I could go on a vacation. I have not been anywhere in about nine years. Plus, I want to go someplace and go fishing. I love to go fishing and it has been several years since I did...

Goodbye May and hello June. There are a lot of people getting married this month. Plus several are taking vacations this month. I wonder if I could start a go-fund so I could go on a vacation. I have not been anywhere in about nine years. Plus, I want to go someplace and go fishing. I love to go fishing and it has been several years since I did.

Growing up when we lived in St. Louis every year we would come down around the Fourth of July and camp out on Current River for a week and sometimes two weeks. Dad would also go squirrel hunting, so if we didn’t catch it or kill it, we really didn’t eat meat or fish.

Plus, family would bring us fresh garden vegetables and then we would have a big feast and visit with one another. If my Uncle Ray Joe Hastings came down and visited, and he always brought his guitar we would sing around the campfire. Another reason for coming down around the Fourth of July, first my birthday was on the 3rd, fireworks, and most importantly was to watch the canoe races. I loved to watch them, as my Uncle Ray was always in the race. I miss the good old days and wish I could bring them back. Family and friends did things together and were kinder to one another.

We would like to send out of deepest sympathy to the Clifton Davis Sr. family of Gatewood and to the family of Danny Hinton. To Danny’s brother, Brian and son Daniel Hinton and daughter, Nicole Hinton. We send our prayers and condolences to all family and friends. Lord, give them strength in the days ahead. Amen

On Sunday I was surprised with an unexpected visit from my son, Mark and Heather Hudson and grandson Cooper from Advance, Mo. While here they also visited with Mark’s brother Matthew Hudson and family, his dad Jerald Hudson and Heather’s dad Roy Marsh and brother Johnathan and Tiffany and family. Sure, made my day to be able to see them and being able to spend time with them before they had to return home.

Bunco for June will be on the 29th at 6 p.m. at the Ponder Community Center on Highway 142 West toward Gatewood. Bring a snack, finger food or a covered dish come join the fun of playing Bunco with some wonderful friends.

Don’t forget to let me know of any special events that you may be having this June like family reunions, or any special get together and family events. Call at 573-996-7726, sharon

I hope all have a safe and wonderful week. Lord’s blessing on all, Lord’s healing on those who may be sick and need your mighty touch. Give those strength to hold them up in all things. Remember God loves you and so do I. Amen
