As we say goodbye to April and hello May, soon it will be Mother’s Day, graduation for our schools and then Memorial Day. Memorial Day is the kickoff to summer events and activities. I am ready for some barbecue and ready to go fishing.

Went down to see all the damage that beavers are doing to my pond with Roy and Johnathan Marsh. I didn’t know they could do so much damage. Hopefully soon maybe we can start working on getting rid of them. That is if we can, I know for sure there are several of them. I thought they only stayed around creeks, and there are no creeks close to my house. Also, want to get my pond fixed up and get rid of the water lilies in my pond. I want to get fish to put into the pond, need a couple carps to put in there.

Bunco for May will be on May 25 at 6 p.m. at the Ponder Community Center on 142W toward Gatewood. Come on out, the days are longer, and join in the fellowship of playing Bunco. Bring a snack, finger food, or a covered dish and have fun at Bunco.

On Saturday I drove to Sikeston to meet my son Doug Mandry, from Mayfield, Ky. He got me a new mattress for my bed. Mine was in such bad shape. Roy Marsh rode with me to give me company for the trip and help me with getting it in the house when we got back. Then my son Matt Hudson came over and took the old mattress out to the trash and then put my new one on my bed. I am so thankful for my sons and friends in my life. It is also nice to be able to sleep all night and wake up without back pain.

When you have people in your life to help you even in the smallest ways you are so blessed. Just like all the trees and bushes turning bright green and soon flowers will be showing their pretty little heads. The Lord blesses us every day, all we need to do is offer up praise, giving him the glory for all that is given to us free. We just need to take care of all of it. I praise him for the rain but Lord if you could just let it get a little warmer.

Lord, thank you for Your love, watch over our children. Give strength to those who need you to hold them up. Remember, God loves you and so do I. Amen.
