Ailene Crews called me. We always have a good visit. She has a new IPhone. She said “you know what they say about old dogs and new tricks.” She does like that it works on the farm and her regular cell doesn’t. She is Sam’s friend that moved to Winfield, Kan. with her parents and became my friend to cause me to be in Missouri.
Well, if you didn’t like the weather this week I don’t know where you would go. Seemed it was pretty much the same all over. California had more water which was wasted because it came down too fast and just flowed into the ocean helping nothing and causing lots of damage. The streams/lakes that feed the dams need the water to run the dams.
Viola Crites and I had our evening chats. It’s not daily but often. Always enjoy them. We don’t like when Wheel is replaced with football or interrupted for a special report. Maybe that is important but, it usually isn’t that informative or interesting to everybody.
Some young people passing by helped me carry in my groceries. That’s always appreciated. I’d forgotten something. Went back, failed to see garage door didn’t open fully (not enough to crawl under). Had to go in the back door which requires closing and locking from the inside. Other young men were passing by and asked if they could help. I asked them to shut and lock door. One said as they walked by, “That will be $20 ma’am, his companions poked him, called his name. I knew he was teasing but said “you’ll have to charge it to the dust and let the rain settle it.”
Reckon there will be a massive burial of electric lines. Black River Electric also had power off for hours. I had to go to Tonya and Marty Hampton’s home overnight. Trying to get stuff for an overnight seems I always forget something. Was able to get by. Glad to have the warmth but, also glad to be home again.
Still sickness know I care. Sympathy to those who lost family and friends. I care.
