Do you realize that in about 2-1/2 months we will be celebrating Christmas? Why does spring and fall fly by so fast? The two times of the year that have the most beautiful colors in them. So far everyone is saying that the persimmon seed is showing a spoon, which means a lot of snow to shovel. I am so thankful to get my front door fixed before winter gets here. Also, I have my window covered with plastic and covers for both of my air conditioners. Next I need to get a cover for my barbecue grill on my porch to keep it out of the weather. I am slowly getting a few things done around my house in preparation for winter.

I have seen on Facebook so many people enjoying bon fires, s’mores, hot dogs and just wonderful times together. I love bonfires and it’s been a long time since I was at one. I would try to have one but with my luck I would catch everything on fire and not be able to put it out fast enough. LOL I would love to go to the pumpkin farms but just not by myself. Too often when you get older you find that the only way is to do it alone, only you wish you had someone to share it with.

I received a wonderful surprise call from Phyllis Dodd Estes. I enjoyed our visit. Phyllis and her family are from the Gatewood area and now live in Florida. I was happy to hear they were safe from the hurricane that hit Florida. She is trying to get in touch with Larry Dodd, so if you know Larry would you please pass a message to him to call me at 996-7726. Thank you.

Bunco for October will be on Thursday the 27th at 6 p.m. at the Ponder Community Center on Highway 142 West. Come on out and enjoy the fellowship and fun of Bunco.

There seems to be a lot going on in October, several weddings, Toys-4-Tots Harvest Dinner. Celebration of my Uncle Ray Joe Hastings 85th birthday along with wedding showers. So just about every weekend is filled with wonderful events. Time for friends and family to enjoy their fellowship with each other.

Lord, I pray that people will see the world as it is but open their eyes to what it needs to be. Lord, we need to be in church and fellowship with each other and in the spirit of the Lord. I pray the world will come back to you Lord. Remember God loves you and so do I Amen
