Some boys were sitting on benches at the park. The youngest boy literally grabbed food out of the Blessing Box.
I observed a young man carrying two small sacks. He looked forlorn and had a physical impairment that affected his walking. I don’t know for sure, but he might be homeless.
She was seated on a park bench eating from a box of cereal. We visited awhile before she left. The man walking on the track said he thought she had slept there all night.
I’ve seen him looking for change. The first time I met him, I was in the process of handing him a card from Celebrate Recovery. He looked up at me with big brown eyes and said “If that’s about Jesus, I already know him and I thank him every day for all my blessings”.
Gave him a ride. I noticed he looked weary. As he exited my car, he said, “I love you.”
On the way out to the farm I stopped to get gas. He was there. I asked him if he needed anything to eat or drink. He said he was good and then thanked me for asking.
I saw her when I was waiting in line at the bank. I rolled down my window and said, “I hope you’re not offended by what I’m going to ask you, but are you homeless?” She said no. She explained that the only way a homeless woman can get into the women’s shelter is to say she’s been hit even if she hasn’t. She said she knows another person who is homeless. As she walked away she turned and said, “I’m not addicted to drugs.”
He asked if I knew anyone that would rent a house? I asked if he was homeless. He said, “Yes, but I have a lot of friends and move from place to place.”
Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” ~ Luke 9:58
