I live on 160W and can’t get over all the boats and campers going by. I remember when we lived in St. Louis we would plan our vacation for the first two weeks of July. We always camped out the whole time fishing, swimming and we always went to watch the canoe races. My uncle, Ray Joe Hastings was always in the race. I sure miss those old times and also watching fireworks...

I sure miss those old times and also watching fireworks.

Then when we got back to camp we would have a big fish fry for my birthday. No one loved fishing as much as my mom, Corinne Hastings. We spent every day the whole day on the river fishing and swimming.

My heart goes out to Doug Miller and his family. I was very sad to hear of the passing of Doug’s wife Judy. Over the years since moving into my parents old home eight years ago, she had sent me cards and they checked on me. My prayers and love are with you. May the Lord give you strength and know He is there to strengthen you in the days ahead.

Dale Keene, who used to be a radio announcer here in Doniphan, he was in the process of packing to move back home to Doniphan. Was admitted into the hospital in Tulsa. He had a heart attack and they found 90 percent blockage in his major arteries. He is having a bypass surgery. Which means he is physically unable to finish helping with the packing of their home to move back.

He is not able to do anything for three months. They have set up a fundraiser for the help of finishing their packing, moving and unpacking once they arrive back here. If you would be interested in helping them please contact me Sharon Hastings at 996-7726 and I will tell you how to go about doing so, thank you for your support for this family wanting to come back home to Doniphan.

Bunco will be June 24 at 6 p.m. at the Ponder Community Center on 142W, going towards Gatewood. Come on out and enjoy the fellowship and fun of playing Bunco. Bring a snack, finger food or a covered dish.
