Sad to say, not much to write this week. Sympathy to all who lost family and friends. Seems each week there is a funeral for someone I know. My days are limited to being more than out and about. I’m sad when death happens but, I am glad to know. Feel better thoughts to the sick ones, I hear of virus exposure, sickness and death but, I know all sickness and death isn’t from the virus. I care.
I visited Linda and Cotton Smith. Linda fixed salmon and a few other health-friendly dishes I brought home. Some things may be good for me but, I just plain don’t like them. I’m learning most “good for me foods” are not tasteful at all. I always thought beans were good/healthy but, they have “high carbs”.
Linda is helping me learn to be a label reader. I do like to read but, this never included labels. Even fresh fruit isn’t all good for me. Some good foods I need to pay attention to the “breading/coating”. Heard about one fellow, his doctor told him to keep an eye on his stomach and he drew a big eye on his stomach. Linda and Cotton seem to be doing good. They pretty much stay in but do grocery shop and occasionally go for a ride just to be out. I always enjoy visiting them.
I was invited to the quilter’s potluck dinner to honor Marie Carter, her birthday was Saturday. The quilters meet most Thursdays, they quilt, sing and visit. At birthday time the cake usually baked by Viola Crites has the candle put on, lit, happy birthday is sung, the wish is made then candle is blown out, the cake is sliced and eaten usually some is taken home by most. The honoree opens and displays her gifts and cards. It is always a fun time. This time there was sadness because of the death of Marie’s brother, Dwayne Wallace.
