Chocolate Gravy
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
4 tbsp. flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups milk
Mix butter, cocoa and flour, add sugar and milk. Cook on medium heat until thick. Serve for breakfast with hot biscuits.
Scalloped Corn
1 (14-3/4 oz.) can cream style corn
2 eggs
1/2 cup crushed crackers
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 tbsp chopped celery
1 tsp. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
In a bowl combine cream style corn, eggs, and all ingredients except cheddar cheese. Bake in a greased 1 qt. baking dish, sprinkle with cheese uncovered at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. 4 servings.
Pizza Burger
1 lb. hamburger
1/2 lb. pork sausage
1 small jar Ragu sauce
1 large piece mozzarella cheese (grated)
1 tsp. oregano
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
8 hamburger buns
Brown meat, cool and remove fat. Mix in seasonings, sauce and cheese. Spoon mixture onto open faced bun and heat in broiler. Serves 4.
Salt Substitute
5 tbsp. onion powder
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. paprika
1 tbsp. dry mustard
1 tbsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. celery salt
1 tbsp. onion flakes
Place in blender and grind very fine.
