November has brought colder weather and many are fighting the flu and sinus infections. Deer season is upon us. Also Thanksgiving at the end of the month. I have read several posts from other places about how nice it must be to close the school for two weeks. We close our schools to help keep the children waiting for the buses, and buses driving the roads safe. If you are from Ripley County, you are more cautious to our area. But if you are not from here, or maybe this is your first time in the woods, you have no clue how far a shot can go through the woods.
Every year that one new hunter puts up a tree stand and without taking safety measures they fall out. So make sure someone knows where your tree stand is or where you are camping. Make sure to wear your bright orange at all times. Deer are color blind and will not know the difference but another hunter will be able to see you. I know the excitement of shooting that big buck is great, but please remember to put safety first, you are not the only one in the woods.
I would like to send all our prayers out to the Bernie Boyles family and friends. He has fought all that has been going on with his health for several years. I pray that the Lord will give you strength and love in the days ahead. Ruth Ann and his children I love you and will keep your family in my prayers.
I would like to say thank you for all who have been praying for me while I was in the hospital and emergency surgery, I am blessed with my children helping me, friends helping me and most importantly that the Lord has been with me every step of the way. Thank you for all those who have visited, sent cards, flowers and made phone calls. I know I still have a long road on my recovery of several months ahead of me. I love you all and each one has a special place in my heart.
Give thanks for all that you have and with Thanksgiving ahead there is no greater time to be thankful. Give praise to the Lord and be grateful for all He does for you. God loves you and so do I. Amen
