I recently read it took 15 months for medals to reach the National Museum of Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. Sincerely hope it is not that long for East Carter on A and 34 and Ellsinore City Purple Heart signs to be set. The 60 Highway sign is in Butler County. I know three other signs are right inside county line (spaced apart). Why not make it four signs? Maybe someone will get on the ball and do their job so I will shut up. Trouble is people who get the signs set probably don’t even read The Prospect-News.
Been traveling again with USA tours. Had to drive to Rolla this time. Of course, that means drive home. I got home about 9 p.m. The trip was quickly filled for the two scheduled trips and third was scheduled and also quickly filled so the fourth trip was scheduled and each trip was back to back leaving Oct. 10, 11, 12 and 13. It was a trip to New England to view the fall colors. There was rain, wind, sunshine and calm days. The colors were kind of spotty. Really pretty on one side and green on the other with some bare trees already. Same thing happens here. We saw other sites too. Toured Boston but, had to walk to Old North Church and Paul Revere’s home. A man on the bus worked for the company that designed the suspension bridge there. He worked on the design too. And a lady on the bus, her late husband designed highways. I was glad to meet and visit with them. The highway designs have always fascinated me. Two and three layers of highway and four to eight lanes “amaze” me. I’ve driven eight lanes. You gotta watch the signs or you are in the wrong lane and need to exit. I just stopped several honked in passing but in a bit one stopped and let me in. I told my passenger “roll down your window and wave my thanks”. She did and that driver “tooted”. I like the friendly toots.
Shaquila Carter Brooks and husband, Don, of Marion, Ill. came Saturday with new granddaughter, Raylynn, daughter of Travish and Justin Ice to visit Joyce Carter. The parents were unable to come. They all enjoyed getting acquainted with the baby, visiting and the German chocolate cake. Congratulations to all.
There is still some sickness. Feel better folks. Know I care.
