I guess I have a new pet at my house. I don’t think he is friendly enough to bring into the house, nor would I want to. In the evenings when my dogs were outside, they would have barking fits, never could see what they were barking at so I got up early on Wednesday morning went to let the dogs out and to my surprise sleeping on my porch was an opossum. ...

They may look scary and get defensive, but they are more scared of you than you are of them. Pumpkin and Brownie were not happy that he was there, they preceded to chase him off the porch. One thing about Mr. Opossum he will eat the bugs and lizards around the porch. Maybe I need to fix him a bed so he can feel like he is home. LOL.

Last Saturday I went down to Show-Me Produce and got some of the most beautiful mums. Then on Sunday, went and picked-up straw bales to set in my yard to set my mums on. Still need to get a couple of pumpkins and I would like to get a couple of corn stalks to finish my fall decorations in the yard. I have wanted to do this for the past six years. Finally accomplished this year.

Janet Portwood and I attended the grandparents lunch with our granddaughter Adysyn Hudson, at Doniphan School last week. It was such a blessing to spend the time with her and we each received several pictures that Adysyn had made for us for Grandparents Day. It was also so wonderful to see so many grandparents who attended to show their love for their grandchildren. There is nothing greater than to spend time with grandchildren and sharing time with them.

September Bunco will be on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Ponder Community Center on 142 West. Please bring a snack, finger food or covered dish. Come on out and enjoy the fun of playing Bunco.

Congratulations to my son Mark and Heather (Marsh) Hudson. They were married in Florida on the beach while on vacation last week. I pray for the Lord’s blessing on them both with many years of joy and happiness.

There is one thing about fall that I really enjoy and that is caramel apples. It is really about my favorite way to eat apples with a lot of caramel. They are a for sure sign that fall is almost here when you find them in the stores for the first time. I am not ready for winter, but I am ready for the temps to begin to cool off some.

I pray that the Lord will bless you this week and share the love of the Lord with someone else. If you see someone hurting, give them a hug. If you see someone sad give them a smile. If you see someone lost, tell them about Jesus and how He can change their life. God loves you and so do I. Amen
