I travelled the lake road at Clearwater recently and the dirt is all smoothed off, gravel on many places but the rugged rock still shows. I just don’t understand where the water came from with such force to do the destruction.
The Purple Heart County for both Reynolds and Wayne Counties on 34 and HH Highways are posted. None for Carter County on 34 or A Highways. A has for Wayne County. I also saw signs for POW and MIA. No Purple Heart City for Ellsinore yet. The signs are at city hall not posted at city limits where they can be seen. It just stinks because this recognition is ignored for months for Ellsinore and the east county.
The music was played and sung at 20 Nobel Street. The crowd was small and only the players and singers were present. Some sickness yet. Feel better folks.
Dwayne Wallace visited recently. We always have good visits, touch on several topics even talked business this time. That happens occasionally. He got a phone call that had us all laughing for a bit.
Sympathy to the family of Ann Simpson. The nutrition center fundraiser was canceled and one meal for all. Ann was loved by all who know her. She seemed to always have a cheerful word and bright smile. I’m glad I got to know her. Sympathy also to the Sanders family in the death of Harold. He will be missed. Sam knew Harold better than I did but, I know any death affect many people. Know I care.
It was May Magdall who spent a few days at her Ellsinore home and visited in the area. Sorry folks, didn’t mean to give a new name.
Timmy and Adalade Carter were flag bearers in the Ellsinore Labor Day parade. Adalade is the youngest and the first female to have this honor. They lead the parade on horses. There were other horse riders in the parade, four wheelers, the school band, classic cars, floats, walkers too. Some shout outs and candy tossed my way as I sat in my front porch swing and watched.
