Porch Praise
The day looms large with much to do,
Views to treasure, tasks to measure,
But why does it seem there are moments too few?
I’ll pause on my porch.
*** *** *** ***
In life, lots to kick up a fuss,
The world’s a mess, leaders are stressed.
Millions face futures of moments dangerous.
I’ll pray on my porch.
*** *** *** ***
Constantly changing - the landscape,
The colorful trees, swirling leaves.
Oh, why do I leave the house in frantic haste?
I’ll sit on my porch.
*** *** *** ***
There’s still much with joy to cherish,
(Amidst the madness and sadness)
Before sacred moments when each will perish.
I’ll sing from my porch.
*** *** *** ***
Life’s dreams get filled with busy-ness;
We all worry, we all scurry,
It takes time to filter out all the nonsense.
Go find you a porch.
