CURRENT RIVER WRITERS EMERGE
There's a new group in town! We don't want to limit participation just to those in Ripley County, though, thus the choice of name for the hodge-podge gathering of souls drawn in diverse ways to work and play with words.
The group meets every first Thursday at 6 PM. We had the first two meetings in the annex of the local library, but time allowed in the facility is too restrictive for the creative souls who have gathered thus far.
Beginning Thursday, July 6 we will meet in the Bingo Hall of VFW Post #3485 at 1866 Ripley 160E-4. Access to the smoke-free area is (1) through the canteen, which is the side entrance with the awning, or (2) at the opposite end of the building from the canteen.
We will continue to start at 6 PM but will not have to limit the fun to one hour. Business is short so those who wish to do so can share their writing prompts. The VFW doesn't close until 9 PM so there is ample opportunity for those who want to stay longer to discuss particular craft issues to do just that.
If you are a writer or want to be, or a reader or proofreader or one who likes to edit, join us!
Writing Prompt for July 6: There is a new kid in school who wants to be your friend, but you are shy. What do you do? (written from child's perspective - through middle school grades).
